Lineage descriptions

CoVerage is using the Pangolin notation to describe lineages. A complete list of all Pangolin lineages and their descriptions can be found here. The following Pangolin lineages are well known:

• B.1.1.7 (Alpha): lineage of concern first detected in the UK
• B.1.351 (Beta): lineage of concern first detected in South Africa
• P.1 (Gamma): lineage of concern first detected in Brazil
• B.1.617.2 (Delta, with sublineages AY): lineages of concern first detected in India
• B.1.1.529 (Omicron, with sublineages BA): lineage of concern first detected in Botswana and South Africa
